1. For Former OJJDP Funded YouthBuild Affiliated Programs, the purpose of these pass-through subawards, ranging from $10,000-$38,000, is to strengthen and enhance a solid mentoring component in your program, based on best practices, dedicated staff, and agency support, which will improve program outcomes and increase graduate success, prevent or reduce anti-social, delinquent, or destructive behavior, and reduce recidivism for those who have been court-involved. The length of the mentoring program grant cycle is 15 months. If you were part of the last round of OJJDP mentoring funding through YouthBuild USA and wish to apply again, please click here Former OJJDP Funded YouthBuild Affiliated Programs RFP.

2. For YouthBuild Affiliated Starter Mentoring Programs, the purpose of this $7,000 capacity building pass-through subaward is to plan and launch a solid mentoring component in your program. The intent of mentoring in this context is to provide YouthBuild participants with support and guidance during the program year, but especially in the critical transition period after graduation. Through the OJJDP National Mentoring Programs Award, YouthBuild USA will expand access to mentoring for youth in approximately 9YouthBuild programs, new to formal mentoring, that will develop a formal evidence-based mentoring component. Selected Starter Mentoring subaward programs will receive the training, onsite and remote technical assistance, tools, and resources needed to establish a quality and durable mentoring component.
