YouthBuild USA is pleased to once again partner with MENTOR as a Supporting Organization for the 2014 National Mentoring Summit, a premier event for the national mentoring movement to be held January 30-31, 2014 in Arlington, VA. The National Mentoring Summit brings together more than 700 attendees from the youth mentoring, government, civic, research and corporate sectors. The Summit provides a venue to share effective and innovative practices, discuss new research, focus on professional development and create a shared agenda to drive systemic change that integrates mentoring as a key strategy in supporting the millions of young people who want and need a mentor.

Tommy McClam and Kelly Belmonte of YouthBuild USA's National Mentoring Alliance will facilitate the Summit session “BRIDGE to Adulthood: Mentoring Strategies for Older Youth.” This interactive workshop will provide mentoring practitioners and advocates with practical and effective mentoring practices for youth transitioning from adolescence to adulthood. Participants in this session will identify proven practices for mentoring older youth; learn how to develop strategies for working with late teens in their local programs; and gain access to a rich mine of available resources for mentoring a young person on the bridge to adulthood.

Workshops are beginning to fill up and last year’s Summit was a sold-out-event so don’t wait to register! You can browse workshop sessions online before you register.
